With a wet Spring come Mosquitos...

Posted by Paul Koehler at Jun 14, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

... The Mosquito Squad that is.  Yes, The Mosquito Squad, an 18 & Under team from Renton, Washington will travel to Sellersville on Thursday night June 18th for a single exhibition game against the Sellersville Belles.  The game will be followed by a hour of fellowship and "Philly Phare" foods.

"We started doing this 4 years ago.  The first three teams to visit were from Alaska and last year we played host to a team from Florida.  We play a single game as a "warm-up" for the upcoming tournament and then we have more fun.  We eat pizza, cheese steaks, soft pretzels, Tastykake Krimpets, and Rita's Water Ice.  We typically have a commenorative t-shirt made for the event and this year will be not different.  If gives our players a chance to meet girls from another part of the United States, and many of our players may never get to Washington state."

Come on out Thursday night and catch the action.

to become one of the Mounties!!  Yes, Shannon has sign a national letter of intent to attend Mount Saint Mary's University in the fall of 2009.  After consideration between Bloomsburg University and The Mount, Kramer decided to join Head Coach Larry Alvis and former Sellersville Belle Beth Everist in Emmittsburg to play the great game of fastpitch softball at the collegiate level.  Since joining the Belles in the fall, Shannon has worked hard at improving her skills at shortstop and caught the eye of Coach Alvis.  The Belles Family is excited and happy for Shannon and her family! image

Monmouth For Scherr...

Posted by Paul Koehler at Oct 1, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Yes, Christine Scherr is sure that Monmouth University will be the best place for her to pursue softball in college and get a college degree.  Christine verbally committed after her official visit to Monmouth several weeks ago.  We are very happy for Christine and her family that this big decision has been made.  We wish you all of the best.

Christine follows former Sellersville Belle Heather Gordon to Monmouth.  Gordon pitched and played outfield while at Monmouth, but was famous for her offensive contributions.

MacLean livin' the dream!

Posted by Paul Koehler at Oct 1, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Yes, Alex MacLean will live her dream - to pitch and play for a Division I college team!  That team will be the Bisons of Bucknell University.  "Amac" verbally committed to Bucknell while on her official visit a couple of weeks ago.  Probably one of the strongest pitchers in recent Belles history has worked hard to get this opportunity.

Good luck Alex!  We are happy for you, your brother, and your mom that this big decision is taken care of.

Alex will join 2008 Sellersville Belles teammate Brittany Schlorff who started her college career at Bucknell in fall of 2008.  Let's go Belles!!

2009 Sellersville Belles Named...

Posted by Paul Koehler at Aug 22, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

It is both an exciting and disappointing time of year for every team and coaching staff.  Tryouts bring talented softball players to Druckenmiller Park, and with them the tough decision of who will be chosen to wear the purple and teal of the Sellersville Belles.  Some players are happy and excited by the decisions made and some are greatly disappointed.  The Sellersville Belles want to thank all of the young ladies who attended our tryouts and we wish to best of luck to those who were not chosen.

 The 2009 Sellersville Belles are:

Seniors: Christine Scherr, Shannon Kramer, Kelsey Detweiler, Alex MacLean, and Hannah Hugel.

Juniors: Mandi Baer, Hope Spancake, Kim Begley, Alexandria Cowell, and Brittany Devlin.

Sophomores: Sam Kraus and Kellianna Bradstreet.

Congratulations ladies.  You have just become part of a team committed to excellence in the skills of the game of fastpitch softball.  This is the team that will fight as a group to earn a bid to ASA Class A 18 & Under Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada.  To all the new Belles and those who return from last season's team remember - "What Happens In Vegas Stays With You Forever!!"
