Ghanayem chooses...
Shippensburg University!! Yes, Micaela Ghanayem, #26, catcher and third baseman for the Sellersville Belles Gold has verballed to Shippensburg University and Head Coach Bob Brookens as the place she would like to play college softball and further her education. At "Ship" she will probably see time behind the plate but may be called on for services at 3rd as well as 2nd. She will major in Elementary Education, for which Shippensburg has a reputation second to none. On her visits to the school as well as the many camps she attended she loves the rural setting of the campus. Her attendence to many camps and clinics at Shippensburg allowed her to see the players and coaches as they are, and she just wanted to play there. Coach Paul Koehler commented, "Micaela's committment to Ship started in her attendence at what seemed to be countless clinics, and camps at the school. Her parents took her out there week after week and she really got to know the coaches and players and they really got to see her, her committment, drive, and passion for the game." We are very happy for Micaela and wish her nothing but good luck as a Shippensburg Raider!!
Congratulations to our Seniors...
...as they leave Sellersville and go on their way to write an exciting new life chapter - college!! The following Belles will be headed to these colleges.
Natalie Babik - will be headed to the outfield of Penn State Berks Campus majoring in engineering. Nat is excited about starting softball at the next level. Penn State Berks will give Babik the opportunity to play and play close enough to home where her family will be able to take in some games. WE ARE - PENN STATE!!
Alyssa Hughes - will be headed to Keystone College to start her college softball career in the circle. Coach Renee Barrows is excited about having Alyssa joining her squad. Hughes will see alot of action as Keystone is a little light at the position of pitcher right now. Keystone was the perfect fit for Alyssa and will allow her to live the dream of pitching in college. Plus, Coach Barrows is a former Sellersville Belle herself, and yes, she also pitched and played for Coach K.
Morgan Labs and Alex Gaydos - both will be missed terribly as they leave the Belles to head to college. Neither will be playing softball at college. Morgan is headed to Lock Haven University and Alex will attend St. Josephs University. Both had wonderful years at Sellersville and will be sorely missed.
Good luck and all the best of wishes for our graduating seniors. Remember, once a Belle, always a Belle. You will always be welcome at Sellersville, especially if you want to come work at a tournament!!
2016 Belles Tryouts Set...
... for the first week in August. Our dates will be
August 4, 6, and 9 from 6:00-9:00PM
August 8 from 9:00-11:30AM
All tryouts will be at B. Earl Druckenmiller Park, 189 Maple Ave., Sellersville on field 1 where we host our tournaments. Workouts will begin at 6:30 and 9:30 respectively. We will use the 1/2 hour to get people signed in and collect paperwork. We encourage you to make it to at least 2 workouts. This gives us the best opportunity to see "your best" and you get a good look at us and what we do.
We typically roster 14 players and we will lose 5 players to graduation. We are in need of a catcher, first baseman, middle infielder, and a couple outfielders. Younger players are desired; however, seniors have made our roster in the past. Sellersville is a great place to improve your fundamental skills, learn softball and the way it should be played, play in many top showcase tournaments in the northeast - all while keeping expenses to a minimum.
If you have any questions, feel free to call General Manager Paul Koehler at 215-808-8034.
Hope to see you in Sellersville!!
